Timex Marlin Automatic 40mm Salmon Dial $254.15 Delivered @ Watch Direct
These have had a surprise price drop recently, making them much more attractive. I’ve had my eye on a Timex Marlin Automatic for a while because it would scratch that ‘mid-century design with acrylic crystal’ itch quite nicely, but I could never justify their high price tag of $400-$500 dollars. Even when Timex themselves had their big 30% off BFCM sale it was still well into the $300 range, and considering it only sports a basic Miyota 8000 series movement that was still a bit rich. It’s base price is now down to $299 (even at David Jones) and with Watch Direct’s Boxing Day sale it’s now down to a much more palatable mid-$200. (Don’t forget to remove their ‘Shipping Protection’ from the shopping cart at checkout to get the above price, unless you really think it’s worth paying for.)
It looks like only this colourway is available locally, but if you want something different then Jomashop has the Green dial for A$270 and the Blue dial for A$250, but shipping and GST will add another $70+ or so.
