**Before you ask: **
– Yes, these had a problematic launch;
– Reviews say current generation of Ryzen handhelds offer slightly better performance for less power;
– There has been significant improvements of the performance of the devices with the myraid of bios and driver updates since launch;
– Yes, you can wait for next generation next year, with baseline process likely to reflect ~$1500 AUD
– End user experience can seem somewhat subjective – some love these devices, others say stay clear.
For $699 fully kitted, I figure it’s not too bad to see for myself as a Christmas present, and worst case, can use as a mini PC.
