Hope everyone had a wonderful break!
After a wonderful December and ‘interesting’ January we’re super excited to be getting back into the swing of things.
As you’ve probably heard, coffee prices are going up and supply into Australia is going down. Still, I thought it might still be handy to give a bit of extra context to this. On the cafe side, the click bait around $12 lattes is doubtful given these increased costs should only be adding 0.50~ to the average cup of coffee. However, a lot of cafes might use this as an opportunity to ‘correct’ their underpriced drinks. So while $12 is doubtful, prices are definitely going up. For the coffee that we sell, we’re expecting to see an increase of a couple of dollars per kg on average. The big ‘if’ here is just how high the global prices go.
Now, back to the fun stuff!
We’ve got all our popular blends back on deck (Candid, AXIL and even Proud Mary!). On the single origin side of the fence, we’ve got a deliciously versatile washed coffee from Diofanor Ruiz in Colombia. While on the filter side of town, we’ve got a natural fruit bomb from Jenita Lebang in Indonesia.
Shipping update
After some very challenging experiences with Auspost in January, we’ve decided to make the big step of testing CouriersPlease for Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Time frames will follow that of Parcel Post (Pickup date, transit times etc.) but we will be monitoring it closely to ensure the performance is up to our standards.
